Find out more about North Cornwall from Films and Books

North Cornwall Coast Path Walks is based at Polzeath and even if you're not into sandcastles and surfing, it's a perfect base for a walking holiday or to inspire some creativity. If you are into reading or much the better!

Walks head out in either direction from Polzeath: inland along the Camel Estuary for the gentleness of Daymer Bay, St Enodoc, the Rock/Padstow ferry and the continuation of the South West Coast Path. Walking north from Polzeath leads you to the dramatic cliffs at Pentire, The Rumps and then on to Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude. Much of the coast is owned and looked after by The National Trust whose vision is 'for ever, for everyone'.

Wherever you're heading you'll find your bit of the North Cornwall coast has inspired someone to write about it or make a film or TV series!

The best guidebook to Cornwall is almost certainly the new Bedrock Cornwall Book series. Book VI covers my immediate area of Cornwall but the series covers all of Cornwall.

Robert Meller lives in New Polzeath and knows Cornwall so well he really can explain everything you might want to know. The books are easy to dip in and out of and will give you inspiration for what to look out for on your next walk.

BOOK I is an introductory guide book to BOOKS II-X. It provides background information on all aspects of Cornwall from the oldest rocks to the most recent plans to build a spaceport at Newquay Airport. BOOKS II-X are detailed guide books that cover the Ordnance Survey Explorer Maps for Cornwall.

Click on the books to order but if you have any problems let me know and I will call down and see Robert to see if he has any more copies.
