The Polzeath Beach Art Festival 2026 is a celebration of ephemeral art and community, taking place in Polzeath, North Cornwall in March. The event focuses on large-scale sand designs, sacred geometry, and various art and nature-themed activities between the tides.
Festival Highlights
Sacred Geometry & Beach Crop Circles: Join "croppie" Dene Hines for a pre-dawn challenge to create a massive "Beach Crop Circle" exploring principles of Sacred Geometry.
Jung by the Sea: Explore the connection between Carl Jung, local history, and the human psyche through unique "Jungian Beach Art" sessions.
Cornish Traditions: Nurdling: Participate in the revival of Nurdling, an ancient North Cornish miners' pastime involving bowling roundish stones across a route from Daymer Bay to Polzeath.
Sonic Landscapes: Learn to capture the atmospheric magic of the coast with professional sound designer Pete Doggett.
Film Festival: The event will feature not only the award-winning 12-minute documentary We Are All Artists, directed by Simon Ratigan, a selection of other films from the London Mountain Film Festival (LMFF) 2026 including The Lost Boys of Carbis Bay.
Community & Collaboration
The festival invites public participation with daily sessions for creating Beach Art that includes walking labyrinths, and mandalas. It also emphasises community building through initiatives like "Buddy Up" cards to encourage friendships.
Support the Festival
The 2026 season is made possible through partnerships with local hospitality hubs, including (hopefully) the Atlantic Bar and Kitchen, The Tubestation, The Point, Surfside, and the St Moritz Hotel, which will host talks, walks, films, and socials. The festival is seeking other sponsors to support its community mental health initiatives and educational workshops.
Whether you are a large organization looking for headline naming rights to align with our mental health and school outreach initiatives, or a local café wishing to sponsor a single "Beach Art Session", film or talk, there is a place for you. Your support helps keep our workshops accessible, funds our educational program with St Minver School, and ensures this unique Cornish magic continues to bring people to Polzeath.
Ways to Support in 2026:
