There is a reason artists have flocked to North Cornwall for centuries. When the sun hangs low over the Atlantic, the light transforms the cliffs into a landscape of gold and shadow.
Join me for a private, bespoke photography walk through the "Golden Hour" or Sunrise. Whether you are a professional photographer or just want to capture better shots on your smartphone, I will guide you to the secret vantage points that only a local knows.
This isn't just a walk; it’s a creative masterclass in one of Cornwall's most photogenic locations.
The Route: We’ll explore the panoramic heights of Pentire Head and the ancient iron-age cliff castle at The Rumps, looking out across Port Isaac Bay toward the silhouette of Tintagel.
The Light: We’ll time our trek to hit the "Golden Hour"—the perfect window of clean, reflected light that brings out the textures of the ancient stone and the deep turquoise of the sea.
The Focus: This is your tour. We can pause for the perfect long exposure, discuss composition, or simply sit and soak in the views.
While we wait for the perfect light, I’ll share the "behind-the-scenes" secrets of this coast:
The Film Set: Get the latest lowdown on local filming, including insights into Doc Martin, and location secrets from Fisherman’s Friends, Poldark, and The Three Musketeers.
Historical Intrigue: I’ll show you the hidden sites most tourists walk right past—from a Cold War bunker and a Flying Fortress crash site to the "Submarine Graveyard" and the hidden caves of the pirate Cruel Coppinger.
Literary Landscapes: Hear how these cliffs inspired the pens of Thomas Hardy, Charles Dickens, and Enid Blyton.
Insider Access: You’ll learn the best spots for future visits and how to navigate the coast like a local.
Creative Growth: Better photos and a deeper understanding of Cornish light.
Total Flexibility: As a private tour, we move at your pace. We stop when you want, where you want.
Duration: Approx 2–3 hours (Timed for Sunset or Sunrise)
Price: £100 per private group (up to 10 people)
Meeting Point: Arranged with your group when booked
"The clean air and reflected light work a magic... you’ll understand why this coast is the heart of Cornish art."
Such amazing sceneries, breathtaking, gorgeous and so peaceful! I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who’s soul searching or just wanting to forget the hectic, fast pace of life. Our family group really enjoyed the morning walk. Bill was a fantastic guide who shared his knowledge with us in a lovely way.
We had a great experience with Bill - it was like going for a walk with an old friend! He has fantastic local knowledge and we enjoyed his stories and tales from his life and adventures. Having the opportunity to explore the area with Bill gave us insight into the history of the area and although the weather conspired against us from a photography perspective but it didn't take away from our enjoyment of the walk. We would thoroughly recommend anyone to walk with Bill, whether or not you have an interest in photography!
We all had a lovely walk with Bill. I appreciated the opportunity to see this part of Cornwall with someone like Bill who is knowledgeable about the local history as well as the fauna (and a lot of the flora!). I saw some spectacular vistas and even though I’m an amateur photographer got some great shots of the coastline. Walking and chatting with Bill was fun – we ended up at the Bee Center for coffee and cake, and it was like old home week being with Bill. Everyone knew him! Sign up for this experience – you will enjoy it!
