Sunday Morning | Polzeath Beach | Free & Open to All MIDDAY UNTIL 4 PM: Global Gaza Kite Flying Gathering
Join us on the sand for a morning of color, community, and hope as we fill the sky above Polzeath Beach!
For a child, flying a kite is pure magic—the thrill of holding a thin string and realizing you are tethered to the wind itself. It invites us to look up, run wild, and experience the unburdened joy of play.
Our gathering on Polzeath Beach aligns with the Global Gaza Kite Weekend, honoring the historic 2011 world record where over 12,000 children gathered on the Gaza beach to fly thousands of homemade kites simultaneously. Growing up amidst hardship often strips young people of their safety, but that record stands as a lasting testament to every child's fundamental right to an innocent childhood. In that spirit, our kites fly as a peaceful expression of freedom, imagination, and solidarity across the sea.
What to bring: Bring your own kite (stunt, paper, or pocket kite!), a blanket, and your family.
No kite? Come down anyway to enjoy the spectacle, share in the breeze, and meet new friends before our cinema evening!
